Subscribe Option

In addition to the new feature of having the daily scribe (comments) e-mailed to you, you can now sign up to have each new post I make e-mailed to you as well. Just go to the page “Subscribe” and sign-up.

So if you are one of those people that doesn’t want to come to Lahaise’s Lair to check the scribes and posts these two options will work well for you. Just add the calendar RSS feed to whatever reader program you use and you’d really never need to come here.

Sarah Kay’s Poem

Remember Sarah Kay’s wonderful TED talk? Yeah, she was amazing! Well, now one of her poems has been bound in a beautiful book with illustrations. It’s pretty inexpensive and would be a great Christmas gift! Even if you don’t buy the book, go to Amazon and check out her interview.

Print Friendly Button

See that cute little print button that’s now at the bottom of each post ↓. That’s a cool little print and/or e-mail feature. Try it. Go ahead and click it. I dare you. Okay…silly, but might come in handy. I’ve enabled it sitewide so that if you want the feature on your blog you can have it too.

Calendar View

I was alerted today to a “glitch” when trying to view homework on the calendar. Sometimes it may get cut off when you click the “more details”. The way around that is to click on the “agenda” view and then everything should show up properly.

Grades

I’ve recieved many questions regarding grade percentages. I’ve mentioned this over and over…

Because your grade is weighted by category, your overall grade is meaningless until all the categories are accounted for. I post grades online simply so you can see individual scores. Don’t focus on the overall grade just yet.

New Login Option and Grade Site Info

1. I’ve added a feature that will allow you to login to your site using the e-mail address that is associated with your account. So if you forget your username simply use your e-mail address and your password. Hopefully some of you will find it useful.

2. When you go to Jupitergrades for the first time you need to use your ID and password that I gave you in class (the ID is the one on your ID card from school). When it asks for the school use: soces. All lowercase, no periods. The city is reseda, tarzana or los angeles (I’m not sure which one). Hopefully this clears things up and I’ll stop being flooded with e-mails. :)

Blog Comments

I apologize to periods 1, 3 and 5 for not having their blog comments completed yet. I’m working on them! I hope to have them completed by Saturday or Sunday. Go ahead and do your next blog post but don’t post it. That way you can make any adjustments once my comment is made.

So far what I am seeing is good, but many of you just need to expand on your thoughts. Keep that in mind when writing your post and you will be okay.

Some good examples I’ve seen thus far:

Football In Los Angeles

Savor The Moment

Blogs

Okay I have all your blogs being fed into my RSS reader so feel free to change your blog titles as often as you like.

I’ve added a new “widget” at the bottom which highlights “super posts”. These are exceptional posts for one reason or another. I try to rotate these often. Hopefully everyone will have an opportunity to be a “super post”.
