No one truly knows when they will ever die or how they will die, as some people already know life can change in a second. Anyone can be hit by a car/bus in an instant and they could die, let’s be honest not everyone dies because they got hit by a car/bus. I mean look at me, I’m still alive and was not even injured. But the point being is that it could happen, just like anyone can be hit in a drive-by shooting. No one has to live in the ghetto to be hit in a drive-by shooting. People die everyday and they may or may not have been aware that they were going to die that day. If they were old then it’s almost obvious that they could die at any minute and I mean like nineties old. But it doesn’t have to take someone dying to change your life forever, just look at the movie Fragments. The characters almost died because of some crazy person who decided that he could not just kill himself, no he had to kill others as well.
The best examples that show how people’s lives change in an instant would be the movies Fragment, Life before this and Life before her eyes. Fragment as you may already know, is about a group of people in a café. They were living their lives like anyother day and were completely unaware of what was about to happen to them at would change their lives forever, because one man was about to enter the café and shoot almost everyone in the café before killing himself. Those who were lucky enough to survive that day, they all had their lives in fragments and tried to cope with what happened. Just like the movie Life Before this, where a group of unexpecting people where caught in the cross-fire of two people who had just rob someone. Those men could not agree on splitting the money with the cops hot on their trail and decided that shooting each other was a better idea. Once again people’s lives were shattered into a million pieces.
Why people decided that using a gun will solve everything, is beyond me but either way people’s lives are shattered. The last movie should sound familiar because it is almost like the VA Tech massacre. The movie Life Before her Eyes is about a boy shooting everyone in sight and soon ends up in the girl’s bathroom. There he gave two best friends—who knew that boy killing everyone—a choice of who would die instead of the other. Although the most trouble maker friend was killed because she wanted to save her friend, it still puts to question. What would you do in this situation? Really, what would you do? Me. I would say it depends….if I don’t know the person then I wouldn’t be so quick in jumping in to save their live, but if I did know them then I would.
A friend is a friend but I would not want to say I let this guy kill them and did nothing to stop it or avoid it. Yeah that may mean I would die but at least they say I died for a good reason. Not doing something like running for the cops or in a tragic car accident but saving a friend’s life. That would be worth saving their life, or even if I don’t get recognized for doing that it still would be worth it. Although personally I hope I never have to make that kind of a decision or have to go through that. Oh and another example that just came to mind is the book Battle of Jericho. Jericho had a cousin whom everyone loved, he was the kind of guy who fooled around in class and not get in trouble. He could make anyone—even if they had a bad day—laugh or smile. It took one big mistake and he died, he listened to someone.
You know that well-known saying “if someone told you to jump of a building, would you do it?” Well let’s be honest…yes Jericho and a group of other teens did just that and they were drunk. That is what killed his cousin—who landed on his head—and it was that foolish act that ended his life. Tore his family to pieces, leaving his parents with only questions about what happened to their son. Leaving Jericho to wonder what went wrong that night and leaving his girlfriend pregnant without a father. And leaving the friends, Jericho, the girlfriend and family with an empty feeling that he normally filled everyday and supposed to be. So ask yourself what would you do if you were in this situation?

No one knows where they will be in the next five minutes; sure you can say ‘I’ll be shopping for the party.’ But look into the reality of the world, you could get into a car accident, you could be kidnapped, you could have a heart attack, many things can happen. For the next four families they will continue to wander what happened before and while their daughters were kidnapped. Lovely Bones has recently became a movie around the summer of 2010 and is about a girl murdered and raped by someone she knew. She watched how her murder tore at her family’s lives so much that it caused all of them to live separate, quiet lives. They knew that their daughter/sister was dead and the murder had no evidence against him ergo he would never be arrested. Which is unlike Taken in Broad Daylight because Ann Sluti was kidnapped in the middle of the Hilltop Mall parking lot in Kearney?Tony Zappa beat her until she was unconscious and threw her into his car before speeding away with her in the front seat.
When Sluti was conscious she left notes for the police to find and on April 11th 2001, after an eight hour standoff, Tony Zappa was arrested. And we all know that she was lucky to be alive and not every family can get that kind of miracle. Most are found dead and it leaves families with emptiness. Don and Elaine Sluti were lucky to get their daughter back, unlike the next two families who were not as lucky. Before the next two families are mentioned, it should be said that people like the Sluti’s are lucky just like the Smart and Dugard family. Those families were lucky to see their families again because it could have been completely different if their captures decided to kill them instead. Of course those families are aware of what could have happened as well as almost everyone else in the world. But as the DuBois family said “I don’t need to know what happened to my daughter, I only want to be able to give her a proper burial. Some families rather be able to bury their child then find out what happened to them.
Amber DuBois and Chelsea King were both kidnapped a year after each other. Amber vanished on her way to school and a year after Chelsea King vanished while on a daily jog. Both families wanted answers only to find out that a child molester who violated his parole multiple times. He ended up killing both girls and tried to rape another but she got away. This man was an ex-con who proved to the world that the system sucks or is super lazy. John Gardner falsified his address, violated his parole multiple times and committed a felony by going to a state prison. Yet he was able to walk the streets because no one was watching him.The cops admitted it “We were not looking because we didn’t have to.”—the detective interview by dateline. And Gardner murdered two girls and tried to rape another, when he could have been in jail. So really does anyone really know where they will be at anytime in the future…no. It is just said to know that all it takes is one mistake by officials, by you or by anyone and it could very well cost someone their lives and family’s lives. No one knows when their clock will stop ticking but point being is make the most of what time life as given to you.

So because we were on summer vacation when I decided to watch Dateline episodes and some movies based on true stories, the videos on the top of the blog are the videos that I mentioned in this blog and it is the same for all my blogs. These videos really have me questioning ‘who can we trust?’ Really who can you trust in this world we call home, just watch the news and they will say that someone was kidnapped, abuse or falsely accused of something. Just think of the Casey Anthony case, Caylee was killed—most likely by her mother—and she was only two. She couldn’t even protect herself from her attacker, who was obviously someone she knew and trusted. Unfortunately Caylee’s murder is still on the streets and she will never see justice done to that person.
The movie The Morrison Murders is about a family who was murdered by their own son, Luke’s and Walter’s parents plus their other brother were killed in their own house. Luke was the one to find his parents and brother, from shock he ran to his sister-in-law’s house and then they called the sheriff. The sheriff investigated the murders which of course meant that he questioned Luke and Walter about what they knew. That lead to them having a polygraph test which pointed the investigation right at Luke, but Walter refused to believe that Luke killed his family. It wasn’t until he asked Luke to go to Atlanta for another polygraph that Walter wanted nothing to do with his little brother, since he refused to go. Ergo when Luke returned after leaving town his brother Walter agreed to help the cops arrest his brother by getting a confession.
Imagine someone you loved killed your own family members, that would tear anyone to pieces and causes people to doubt life. This is something that no family member ever thinks would ever happen to them. Luke simply had a disagreement with his father and his mother seemed to love his other brothers more than him. Every child has disagreements with their parents all the time and sometimes the kids runaway from home because of these disagreements. Although those runaways have disagreements they do not kill their family members. Since the topic is killing a family member, this is exactly what the cops thought Michael Crowe did to his sister—from the movie The Interrogation of Michael Crowe—. She was stabbed nine times in her own room and when the cops came to investigate they saw him completely emotionless.
As if he didn’t care that his own sister died and was murdered in her own room, which is why they charged him and two of his friends with her murder. The cops forced a false confession out of the three boys and ignored the obvious, that a homeless man killed Stephanie. That man was reported to be seen around the neighborhood asking for his girlfriend. The cops ignored that and said that the three innocent boys killed a girl that everyone loved. Although after a long trail that said the prosecution could not prove the boys killed Stephanie, the state still claimed that they did the crime but can’t prove it. And that is why the state can take them to court again at anytime they feel that they have enough evidence. They later convicted the man—Richard Tuite—who was homeless and looking for his girlfriend, with Stephanie’s murder.
Still imagine your mother, father, sister, or brother dying in your own house and when the cops investigate the murder, they blame another member of your family or you with the murder. An event like this causes others to look at your—or anyone’s family that this happens to—to be torn apart and other people look at you completely different. They still think that you (or person initially accused) did the crime and got away with it because of the lack of evidence. A family torn apart is something that hundreds of people do through especially if they experience a traumatic event. Like the Dateline episode Lost in Sin City, this video is about a woman who disappears one day only to be found dead under a bridge wrapped in her own bed-sheets. The police later found out that she was killed in her own home and brought to the bridge after.
During the investigation the police found that the ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend may have murdered his ex-girlfriend. Imagine being this woman’s family and imagine how they felt not to know who killed their daughter/sister/friend. Imagine the horror of knowing your daughter’s, sister’s, or friend’s ex-boyfriend having to do something with her murder but because of the lack of evidence they can’t charge him. Ergo the case will now go unsolved until they can prove he did it or get a confession from anyone. And speaking of confessions the movie Just Ask My Children is about a family who was torn apart by one woman’s fascination with molestation. Mary Ann Barbour had gone to the psychiatric ward at one point during her ordeal with her step-daughter Debbie and her husband Alvin McCuan. Mrs. Barbour tried to get Debbie’s daycare license revoked but failed to do so and therefore she decided to get custody of her step-granddaughters.
And because she knew Jill Haddad—spokeswoman for an anti-child abuse called Mothers of Bakersfield—she got full custody of her step-granddaughters. And like any other parents Debbie & Alvin fought to get their children back only to be arrested with their friends Scott & Brenda Kniffen. They all were charged with child molestation and sentenced to over two hundred year in jail. And although they would now be in jail until they died I personally think that it was worse to know that something happened to their children to make them lie in court and not knowing if their children knew the truth. The Kniffens will not know if their children believed or did not believe what the police told them. These two loving parents will have questions for twelve years, and their children will also have question that will be unanswered.
Families with questions like the Salmon family from Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, or the Wilberger family from the Dateline episode Bring Brooke Home, the Ramirez family from Dateline episode Relentless. The Salmon family lost their daughter Susie to their neighbor that raped and chopped Susie’s body up. The neighbor stuffed her into a safe and threw her in a sink hole. (If this sounds familiar, it’s because it is. It is from the book Native Son by Richard Wright.) The Salmon family questions for years; how, when and who killed their daughter/sister. And when they forced out that the unusual neighbor had killed her they wanted to find her body. This book shows how a murdered loved one will ruin a loving family and tear at them. It shows how life can end in one instant just like Brooke Wilberger’s life. She was kidnapped, raped and killed by a random man on cocaine. A man that went through a McDonalds’ drive-thru while Brooke was tied up in the back seat.
The Wilberger family did not care if Joel—the murder—did not get the death penalty the only thing they wanted was Brooke’s body. Joel was a father who tried to rape or did rape people even his own family. Joel’s family had a feeling that Joel did murder Brooke just like the Ramirez and Wangler family. The Ramirez family suffered a death, their mother was murdered by her mother’s boyfriend. The boyfriend was not charged with the murder until many years later and it was thanks to one of the mother’s children. Unfortunately the Wangler family is not about justice for an unsolved case but an accidental death that may have been a murder. Dr. Wangler and his wife were in their house when carbon monoxide leaked. Dr. Wangler survived but his wife died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Mrs. Wangler’s family believed that the doctor killed his wife. And was later found guilty in court for a murder he says he did not commit. Now combining all the stories together almost all of these stories had the victim murdered by someone they knew. So that puts the question who can we truly trust or how about the ones were people were falsely convicted. How can they trust the system again. What would they do when they need help? What would happen when they call the police, would they once again be falsely convicted? Those families were torn by sick people who most likely never understand how it feels to have your family torn apart (it feels horrible, not recommended) or how it feels to lose someone you love (still not recommended.) Those sick people will never understand what it feels like to lose a loved one to someone they knew. How do you know who you can trust? Who can you really trust with your life or you families’ life?

Somebody’s Daughter (Part 1):

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Even though we all know that most cops are corrupted, we still have to admit that there are some cops that are not. But corrupt or not no cop imagines that they will see an unmarked graveyard of bodies. Although the cops in Texas received a false tip of a mass graveyard by a woman known for giving false tips, she was taken seriously because she said that children were involved. This graveyard may have been the crazy imagination of a woman in New Mexico a Detective Lopez was put on the missing person’s department because she had a major surgery that normal would cause cops to quit. This surgery soon caused Detective Lopez to go on a wild search for missing prostitutes that no one has seen in months. What seems like a normal case soon became a search for a serial killer that killed prostitutes after he was finished with them and he would bury them in the Mesa—an empty dessert that no one went to—.
Soon there was a big list of girls missing all from the same place, all prostitutes. One of the families was the Valdez family, who wanted their daughter Mitchelle back. Mitchelle like all the other girls were druggies that needed money for their next high. Soon Detective Lopez and other cops found a mass grove of twelve bodies and as they dig all those bodies up, it became a quest to find who had done this to those people. Eleven cases from Detective Lopez’s list were sold and the twelfth victim was an out of state girl who was on a travel van of prostitutes before being killed. The Valdez family got some closer because Mitchelle’s body was also found. Now eleven families may have some closer of knowing where their daughter’s bodies are but what about the other families. We think that prostitutes are just people obsessed with sex but some are not. Mitchelle and all the girls on Detective Lopez’s list only did it to get money for drugs. Others to pay for rent and their family’s home. New Mexico’s missing person’s department was only Lopez at that time so no one really looked for these girls.
But the sad part was that satellite pictures show that the west Mesa being disturbed. There had been reports from people of bodies being buried there but no one thought to look. Prostitutes may have a different life style then some of us but they are still people. They should be looked for just like if it was a twenty-one years old gone missing. To prove they are just people look at the book Sold by Patricia McCormick. The main character Lakshmi was forced to be a prostitute because her step-father sold her to Mumtaz and they starved her until she willing did what they wanted. As the days went by they made every prostitutes have clients everyday, without breaks. As Lakshmi tried to get out of this business Mumtaz would make-up random excuses that Lakshmi owned her something else. Lakshmi was forced to be a prostitute and even though she did not like it she still did it to get her family money and to get out of the prostitutes house. She may have been a kid but she was still treated like a normal human being, so why not people like Mitchelle. Someone needs to pressure the guy to clean out the war zone. The war zone is a place that any killer can hide without being caught. Stand-up against this because it could be someone you know next. It doesn’t take long for a skilled serial killer to kill anyone at will.
More than a dozen girls died because of this crazy serial killer and yet the government can’t seem to find that person. The person who thinks that they can get away with murder and not be caught and that person may be right because no one has caught him yet. That is sad because I would want someone to find my murder if I was murdered, but this guy is still walking freely. That…to be honest would scare me because that could mean that my manager or neighbor could be the guy who killed all these people. The next thing anyone knows is that the will be in the shoes of the people in the movie “Stepfather.” The guy could come in and just kill everyone without anyone expecting it. Point being is that we need to get a better government so that no one has to worry about a murder living next door to you. Then maybe people will actually feel safe within their own home, instead of worrying if they can actually be safe within their own homes. So if you know anyone that is a murder then you should tell someone immediately because it could save someone else from being murder.

Mistakes

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Everyone in the whole world makes mistakes, those mistakes usually cost us. Like deciding to join a gang and then snitching on them or going to a party and getting into a fight. Mistakes like adding wrong on a math test and getting a B on the test. Mistakes that cost you a good relationship with your family or boyfriend/girlfriend, mistakes are the things that we learn from in life. It is also the thing that everyone tells you to stop doing. Mistakes are not something that is illegal you know, even though teachers make it seem like it is. Everyone makes mistakes and that is how we learn what to do and what not to do in life. Without us making mistakes we would never learn right from wrong, instead we would always be going something wrong. We makes mistakes on who we trust, who we consider friends and in the end we will either learn the easy way or hard way on who we should trust and consider friends.
In this movie called “Trust” this girl by the name of Annie got an online boyfriend whom she trusted. They talked all the time and one day the boyfriend told Annie that he was in fact not sixteen but eighteen. Soon he told her that he was a college student and then a twenty-six year old man, but for some reason Annie still stayed in contact with this guy. When Annie’s brother and parents were leaving on a trip to drop off Annie’s brother at college, this guy told Annie to meet him at the mall. She did exactly that and found out that he was a thirty or forty year old man. But instead of getting away from him she went with him to the ice cream shop, later she got into his car. He brought her to his hotel room and raped her, while he was videotaping the whole thing. Her family found out about what happened because Annie’s best-friend told the school counselor about what happened. Later on Annie and her parents found out that this guy has raped a couple of other girls, including an eight year old. Annie misplaced her trust and suffered extreme consequences because of it.
Another story is from a Dateline episode “Circle of friends” which is about a group of friends that went to a party. The party didn’t end well because someone ended-up being shot and another blamed for that persons murder. The reason being that these two people were in a fight not long after the murder. Some people told the cops some lies and that is what caused one boy to loss the rest of his life to being in prison. Two families to loss their sons, all because of one party and a misunderstanding. In the end the boy who was arrested and charged with his friend’s murder was found guilty and the dead boy’s family was a 100% positive that their son was murdered by his friend. Everyone else thought that it was pathetic that a friend would be charged with his own friends’ murder. This guy trusted that people would actually tell the truth about what happened at the party but was wrong because people ended-up lying about everything to the cops.
The last story is an article called “Teen found shot and dangling from a bridge.” This article is about a teen that was known as a snitch to the gang that shot him and hung him on the bridge. There was another guy next to the teen and he was dead, the gang had caught both of them as snitches and they decided to kill them. The teen was fine and the cops are supposedly still looking into the situation. This also relates to the movie “Sin Nombre” which is about a gang member that killed his gang leader because the gang leader killed the gang member’s girlfriend. The gang member was hunted down like a dog because of what he did and was later killed. The teen trusted that he would be safe among the gang and the gang member trusted that his girlfriend would be safe from his fellow gang members. Point being is that people make mistakes and most of them regret their mistakes later in life. Mistakes are what help us in life to learn, without mistakes everyone would consider themselves perfect and then everything would be crazy.
People would think that they are better then everyone, then they will act like they are a queen or something. That they deserves royal subject to serve them and do everything they are told to do. That would be one crazy type of world, a world where people will most likely not get along because everyone would consider themselves better than the other person. Point being is that people make mistakes in life, it is natural and just because we make mistakes does not mean that we deserve to suffer the worst consequences. Especially for some teens that were not doing anything bad, instead they made one mistake and then they suffer the worst consequences. But either way people need to learn that we make mistakes to learn from them and do better next time we are in that particular situation again.

Bullying Text Messages Sent To High School Students, Hard to Trace: MyFoxLA.com

The school officials did not know what was going on is a complete lie, almost the whole school knew about this. The officials knew about this because it was the talk of the whole school. The person who is behind this is a coward that doesn’t have any guts. They are hiding behind a piece of technology to express their emotions to the other students. In the beginning this was not bullying or anything but a weird text saying “I know –U.” But for those who texted back started to get more texts, soon after these texts became cruel. This person needs to send out an apology to everyone they hurt. Just because you have bad feelings for someone does not mean that you can just send out a school wide text to express those feeling for each person. Telling people that they should do and die or to go cut themselves, that is pathetic. This person seriously needs to grow-up and learn that this is the kind of things that make people suicidal. These kinds of things make people depressed and could completely ruin them. Personally I hope this person gets caught and receives the punishment they deserve for the cruel things they said to a lot of people. If this person thinks that doing this outside High School, they are wrong this kind of thing will be investigated and they will wind-up in jail is they continue this cruel act.

Sick People Part 2

This world unfortunately has people like the Elizabeth Smart kidnapper Mitchell, the Jaycee Dugard kidnappers Phillip Garrido and Nancy Garrido. Like those people that are sick, so is this person or people that sexually abused an eight year old boy that is completely paralyzed. A boy that is completely helpless against everyone, especially those sick people. It’s bad enough that there are child molesters everywhere outside, but in a hospital! In a hospital, really! Not like we haven’t heard of the abuse towards the retired people. How teenagers would sexually abuse the helpless older people that can no longer control anything. That is bad enough to hear of but now years later, we hear that a boy who was unfortunate enough to be completely paralyzed is being sexually abused in a hospital.Really I’m tired of hearing how these sick individuals find happiness from molesting children.
I hear of people disappearing everyday but if it is a child. I’m like ‘so their dead and before dying they were sexually assaulted.’ I mean I’m not always far off either, a seven year old goes missing and the conclusion to me is they were sexually assaulted and killed. But a hospital should be a place where anyone can be like ‘I’m going to be fine.’ And their family should feel comfortable with the fact that their loved one will be fine in a hospital. Now I never want to be rendered helpless—even if I’m old—never! In fact I already dislike hospitals and this just adds to the fact that I don’t want to go. What happens when someone is in a horrible car accident and is unconscious? Will they too be sexually assaulted and never know it? Are we even safe in a hospital? A place where we go to heal or avoid illness. What happens to anyone in a hospital? If they can’t avoid a paralyzed boy from being sexually assaulted multiple times than how are we even safe? So if you know anyone being molested, speak out for them. Because you never know who that person will molest next.

Sick People Part 1

Before anything the dateline episode in this blog is only part one and if anyone wants to see the rest of the episode copy and paste the link on the bottom titled Deadly Connection (Part 1).
In our cruel world there are millions of ways to die but no parent ever thinks that they would get a knock on their door saying their son/daughter was found dead, dead by their own hand. Parents also don’t imagine coming home to their child hanging by the roof nor over-dosing on their own bed. To most parents they dream of their kids being successful in life. None imagine them dying before that yet in the next three stories there will be a tale of how three people fictional or not attempted or commited suicide. In a book most will recognize because it is known on Barnes and Noble as ‘a must read’ book. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher was about a boy who received a box of tapes with no return address and because of that this boy listened to the tapes. And the voices that came through the speakers were a girl’s voice, a girl who had recently killed herself. This girl’s name was Hannah Baker and in those tapes she told how each person helped her to decide to commit suicide.
How her friendships with others destroyed, how she was living her life only to attract more trouble and how in the end she no longer cared about life and greeted trouble. So Clay Jensen found out how people he knew and trusted were the ones to help Hannah decide to kill herself. And when Hannah find addressed Clay and said he was very kind but when she finally got to know him she was already gone with no hope of coming back. Hannah thought of suicide before but gone life another chance only for it to fail her again. Someone like Hannah but was Nadia Kajuuji who was also suicidal and like Hannah she killed herself, although unlike Hannah she was not fictional but a real live person. Nadia had been thinking of suicide for a long time and in the end went online to talk to people like her. There she meets William Melchert-Dinkel, a nurse who had multiple online names such as Camie-D and fooled other that he was ‘suicidal.’
He had an obsession with watching people hang themselves on camera. And he tried to get Nadia to hang herself in front of her webcam so that he could watch. She decided to jump off a bridge into water and died of hypothermia. It’s sickening to know that Nadia was at rock bottom and when she looked for help she found someone who would not help her but encourage her to kill herself. Another person at his lower was JD Schramn who talked out about suicide and encouraged people to get help. He too jumped off a bridge but survived. JD maybe right about getting help but who really knows where you can get the help you really need. William was a nurse someone we should trust yet he encourages people to kill themselves. Others may not care and just ignore your plea for help. Knowing how suicidal victims feel, I know it’s hard to ask for help or tell someone about it.
So I also know that when most of them ask for help it is only once, ergo the decision of who to ask it even more important than ever. It’s hard to know that people we are supposed to trust may only do the opposite. But either way listen to JD and ask for help from people you either know will not disappoint you or are on a hotline. Hotline because at least if they don’t help you like they are supposed to then they could be tried for helping you to commit suicide, and hotline only if you don’t have anyone else it helps more when you trust the person. Either outcome at least you won’t regret anything in the end. Hopefully those people you ask for help actually help you. So ask for help!

Are we even safe at home?

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player
All over the world children are being abused and it is always (that I’m aware of) by someone that they know, they get abused physically, mentally, or verbally. It was not recently but most of you should remember the hot-sauce mother, who put hot-sauce in her child’s mouth when he misbehaved and would even put him in cold showers. For those who do not know about the hot-sauce mother then to let you know, the only reason we know about this is because she got her daughter to videotape it. This was later discussed on Dr. Phil and soon after she went to court. Obviously this woman wants to be seen on Hollywood but putting hot-sauce in her kid’s mouth as a form of punishment is pathetic. Seriously, has she even heard of grounding or time-outs; something that is reasonable. In fact it seems like hot-sauce is the new form of soap in the mouth as a punishment. And for those who have never had soap in their mouths, it is disgusting and also impossible to get the taste out of your mouth for at least an hour or more. As for cold showers…well it sucks since it’s cold and you can’t stop shivering even when you get out. To do that to a child that is only seven years old is cruel and it reminds me of A Child Called ‘IT’ by Dave Pelzer.
Dave was verbally and physically abused by his alcoholic mother, who is jealous of her son because her husband cares for him more than her. Although she says that it is because he misbehaves too much and needs to learn to behave better. He gets ammonium (I think but for sure it was a cleaner) shoved down his throat and it causes his throat to be raw. He goes through cold showers/baths, a gas chamber (mixture of ammonium and chlorine), Burned by the stove, suffered a broken arm and multiple beatings. Reading that book was a challenge because of how badly his mother abused him and how detailed it was. It made you stop just to breathe before opening it again and finding out what he did to survive the latest beating. An article called Dallas mom glued daughter’s hands to wall is about how a “mother glued her daughter’s hands to the wall and kicked her in the stomach because of potty training issues.” Really! Kicking your child is so going to help you to teach them to use the toilet. How is your child supposed to go to the bathroom with their hands glued to the wall? This is like the Runaway by Wendelin Van Draanen, Holly—the main character—is an orphan who lived with Mr. and Mrs. Bender and they know about Holly’s past involving her mother. This is why they always assumed she is doing drugs or stealing whenever she is late in arriving home.
On top of everything else Mr. Bender is sick and tries to touch Holly inappropriately everytime they are alone with each other. Holly left this home as fast as she could and lived as a homeless person because she was not about to go to anyother foster home again. Almost every foster home she went to has been abusive and she goes not want to live in that kind of environment. Luck like other children who did not get lucky enough to meet Sammie (a friend), who help Holly to find a good home that will treat her nicely just like she always wanted. Holly struggled to survive in the world without money and without a home, this is why she wanted a good home and sometimes wanted to go back to the Bender’s home because it would at least mean food and a warm (sort of) bed. Holly got the idea of living on the streets because she and her mother lived on the streets together and ergo she thought that she could survive on the streets too. And like Holly, Chris from the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer ran away from home too. And like Holly and Dave, Chris had abusive parents. But his parents abused each other instead of their children but they would involve their children in every argument they had. It was like a physical competition between each other, they wanted to prove to each other that they were better than the other. But in the end they lost their son, who left to travel the world and then went to Alaska.
This is also where he ended up dying because of him eating poisons roots. But his family’s abuse is what caused Chris to leave, that and lies. The family was not honest with each other and Chris found out that his father has another family that he did not tell anyone about. This is where Sold (by Patricia McCormick), Thirteen Reasons Why (by Jay Asher) and Speak (by Laurie Halse Anderson) come into this long rant. Sold is about a girl who lived with her family and step-father, but they were very poor so one day her step-father sold her to a pimp. Yes, I did say a pimp; she thought she was going to be a housemaid but instead she was now a prostitute. Well an unwilling prostitute, she did not want to be in that business but the pimp (Mumtaz) would starve her until she would go what Mumtaz wanted. So she did the business with all the other girls in the building, everyday and only at night. In the end she somehow survived Mumtaz and she earned her release, but Mumtaz refused to let her go. She would make excuses to keep Lakshmi (the girl sold into prostitution). After a while one of the girls told an American about Mumtaz and then he brought the police and arrested the pimp for good. Thirteen Reasons Why is about a girl named Hannah Baker who committed suicide and no one new why she killed herself. She sent tapes to everyone who she said was involved in her suicide because she wanted them to know what they did, that set her mind to killing herself.
Justin Foley was the boy who spreaded false rumors about him and Hannah having “sex” in the park. Zach Dempsey stole Hannah’s paper bag with encouraging notes to her and he threw them in the trash. Alex Standall made a list that was meant to make Jessica Davis jealous but ended up creating more trouble than she wished for. Jessica Davis ruined a friendship over all the rumors spread by others, Tyler Down was the peeping Tom that took pictures of her and Courtney Crimsen during the night. Courtney Crimsen used Hannah for a lift, to find Tyler as the Peeping Tom and made more rumors about Hannah. Marcus Cooley stood up Hannah on the day of their Valentine Day date and believed the rumors that she was a “slut.” Ryan Shaver stole a personal poem of Hannah’s and put it on the newspaper and the teachers ended up analyzes the poem. Clay Jensen was the only one who did nothing to Hannah but she made the tape for him because she wanted Clay to know that he did nothing to her. Jenny Kurtz created a car accident because she crashed into a stop sign. Bryce Walker raped Hannah and Mr. Porter knew that Hannah was suicidal and she even told him she was going to kill herself but did nothing about it. Speak is about Melinda who was an outcast at her school because she ruined a party and got everyone arrested. Melinda did not explain what happened to her during the party that caused her to call the police because she was ashamed of what happened.
She had no friends except for one new girl who was only using Melinda to get friends at the school. So Melinda would ditch class and not do her work but when she tried to raise her grades one of her teachers was being a real jerk about it. He initially told her to write a report but in the end he told her that she would only get full-credit if she did an oral presentation. This is the problem since that night that the party was cut short, Melinda had not really spoken since that night. And the teacher had an attitude since a student was suing him. In the end Melinda saw her former best friend that her new boyfriend raped Melinda the night of the party that made everyone hate her. Andy Evans was that boy and by the end of the book he was busted trying to hurt Melinda for “lying” to everyone. The last two books that connect to this blog is Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott and What Happened to Cass McBride by Gail Giles. Living Dead Girl is about a girl by the name of Alice who was kidnapped as a kid when she was at a field trip with her class. She never saw her friends or family again and was continuously raped by the man who kidnapped her. One day he mentions that he wants another Alice meaning that he wants another kid to live with him. Therefore Alice—who does not really remember her name—looks for a kid that she knows the man would like. But in the end she sets everything up only to save the little girl from living her life and get stabbed saving the little girl’s brother. I don’t know is she lived nor if she saw her family again because the book ends but she was sexually abused continuously because of a sick guy’s fetish with little kids.
What Happened to Cass McBride is about a popular girl by the name of Cass who is kidnapped and buried alive, no you don’t have to read that again I did in fact say buried alive. It ends up that Cass was not having a good Friday because she felt guilty about a recent suicide of a boy from her school. She was kidnapped by the boy’s brother Kyle Kirby, who demanded to know what Cass said to his brother David. Cass told Kyle that since she did not know David that well, he should tell her about him. This was part of Cass’ plan to get herself out of her grave alive. Kyle told Cass about his verbally abusive mother who would call David gay every second she got. She would also neglect David and manipulate him to be one her side when abusing Kyle. In the end Cass told Kyle that she should not be in the grave he made for her but his mother should be the one buried alive. Kyle agreed and left Cass—who was almost dead—buried the cops ended up finding out Kyle had something to do with Cass’ disappearance and forced him to tell them where she was. They saved Cass’ life and she of course changed everything about herself because during this whole thing she realized her mistakes in life and decided to change them. Now the point of all this is for everyone to see how many examples can be put into this and to see that parents abuse their children, Or they misuse their trust in someone to their advantage. All these stories have abuse in them and although some end well, most did not. People are sick and that is unfortunate but to abuse your own child is sick and sad. If you know of a child being abused tell someone, no matter what because it may just end up that if you don’t they will die.

Our Canterbury Tales

This is a journey
Seen in the past
Through the beautiful looking glass.
In which you can see
Between the seven people in the mast
Sitting and talking in a meadow full of grass.

Of course these people are as famous as can be
But one has sadly passed this world’s veil.
Which to this story is the key
And is now trying to tell the tale,
Of a wonderful night in which everyone should see.

It started with the passing of a remarkable man
By helping all and being the best as he can.
The show he hosted was loved by all
A child, a train, and even a doll.
He was mostly known by PBS
Which was sad for the most and the less.

He was hit by a cancer that shocked the whole dimension
Sadly this caused a lot of tension.
He will be missed by everyone far and near
As his ghostly presence
Is seen to shed a tear.

The living six are there to share
The emotional sadness that they cannot bear.
Their friend is forever gone
So now they show their support by sitting on a lawn.

One of the six is a wonderful lad
She helps others especially when times are bad.
In childhood she was suicidal and depressed
But now she has found a wonderful quest.
To help others in times of need and hope
Is a joyous way to learn how to cope.

Now she is co-president of her foundation
With the help from her friend and their reputation.
Sorry I cannot tell you the name
But that would sadly give it away.
And an actress, did I mention she was
There, I have said enough for her cause.

This next man pertains to the other
Because they are both each others’ lover.
With a character to portray
And a father that has to stay.

He loves films, that we can see
He says they are “a portal into different worlds for me.”
The last character that he voiced
Everyone was rejoiced.
In “Happy Feet 2” he played one of the krill
Which was a sight to see because his name was Will.

This next man is known mostly by his acting
To him, that is his adventuring.
He has won many an award
But this always brings him back to the drawing board.

He has had a terrible childhood
But thankfully he has brought through the good.
The parts that he play
Have created his name.
Characters like a pirate, a drunk, and a crazed kid
Have opened the lid
To an amazing career
In which he will always be able to steer.

This next man is an actor
If you were interested in knowing more
Then you’ve come to the right place.
Make sure to lock your doors just in case
Four teenagers try to break into your home
And steal all but a large tome.

If you did not know, he is prone to injuries
Because of all his dangerous activities.
It seems to me that he likes movie series of three
Being known as an elf and a pirate would be too much for me.

This next person is an actress and fashion designer.
Her twin is her copartner
In their entertainment company.
She is mostly known by many
For all of her health issues
But hopefully she has learned some virtues.

She started her career when she was one
That is when her acting begun.
She has been in movies and television shows
But the last movie she was in, she portrayed a weird person or a foe.

The sixth living person at this get-together is an actor
That is this man’s main factor.
He has had some problems in the past
And that’s an understatement to the last.

After rehab he was able to return to his career
And was soon seen at many a premiere.
He is known best as one movie character
That became a hit blockbuster.
But the character name would tie the link
So build yourself some armor and think.

The seven people are all famous
That’s all I can say.
So have fun guessing
On this wonderful day.

See if you can guess which celebrity we are talking about. :D
