Fear Dwells in Immigrants

As of September 05, 2017, Donald Trump cowardly affected 800,000 people, by taking away the only thing that made immigrants have hope. He did this by removing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA. Many people saw DACA as hope; a step closer to the American Dream. People come here to have a better life and get an education so they can get better jobs  and be able to give their family a better future.

Donald Trump had Jeff Sessions, an Attorney General announced that people who have DACA have a month to renew it, however for those that can’t or don’t from fear will be getting deported. DACA helps undocumented  immigrants who came as little as small infants to not worry about getting deported  and help them receive a career by getting a degree. Before people get DACA they have to get a background check and make sure they don’t have a criminal record. Well today they announced that they will be removing DACA so American citizens won’t have to worry about there safety by these “rapes, criminals” and etc. This isn’t true because they wouldn’t even be able to receive DACA if they had a bad background check. So what, Donald Trump made Jeff Sessions do, is not true and stated with wrong facts.

In the article “Tears, Anger and a Promise to Fight Back as Trump Ends DACA”, many people fear what will happen to there life after today. Andrea from the article stated that “ I’m scared because I don’t know what will happen to me and my future, like school-wise,” and she also said,  “I don’t know what’s going to happen to me … Now I will be back to square zero.” Many of my relatives can relate to this feeling ,one of which is my brother. My brother came to the United States when he was only 2 years of age and he is now 31. He doesn’t even remember how it was like living in mexico, because he grew up here his whole life. People like Donald Trump don’t understand that many people didn’t grow up in their native nation, so they can’t sociate with where they were born from. They are trying to send people back to a place where they aren’t similar with and leave their family and homes behind. So I agree with the article about how it’s changing people’s lives and I don’t agree with what Donald Trump is doing because the United States is a country made up of immigrants and is known as the Nation of Freedom and Opportunity, which he is taking away.
